1 Peter 2:11-12 How do you answer the question: who are you? Do you start with the name on the front of your jersey: occupation-company-university-other? Are you bold & confident with that identity or do you downplay it? Peter has been telling this dispersed & persecuted group who they are in Christ & what is expected from one who belongs to. Christ. Verse 11 begins with Beloved & this word can also be translated sanctified. The Beloved of Christ are sanctified-made into Christ’s image & the sanctified are the Beloved of God as they are one with Christ. There are zero Beloved who are not being sanctified-transformed into the image of Jesus as the identity came with a new heart-new desires-the dwelling of the Holy Spirit. Re-read 1 Peter 1:1-2:12.
