Why am I unable to login to RBS Digital Banking? ›

Please ensure you are using an up to date and fully supported browser to use Digital Banking. Make sure you have cleared temporary internet files and cookies and your browser has extensions and add-ons disabled. If needed, also try restarting your device and router, and try a wired connection.

If you need to reset your security details for Digital Banking, the quickest way to do this is to complete our Digital Banking Application form with your debit card. Providing the details you give on the application match those we hold on record; you will be able to access your accounts instantly.

Ensure you're on the bank's official website, with a secure connection. Check your bank's service status to see if the issue is on its end. Check your login credentials and reset them if you're unsure. Update your browser to benefit from the latest security patches.

Try entering your password a second time in case it was entered incorrectly. However, if your entry doesn't match after three attempts, we'll temporarily disable access to online banking as a security precaution. Not to worry, you can use our online password recovery to continue.

If you find yourself being locked out of online banking (even though you know your password is right!), it could be caused by not properly logging out the last time you accessed your online banking via the mobile app or web browser.

Logging in to Bankline for the first time

You'll be prompted to enter your 10-digit activation code. (Enter the first five digits in the first box and the last five digits in the second.) 4. You'll be asked to scan a QR code with your smartcard reader.

In addition to the customer ID, business Bankline customers also have a user ID. This is a memorable word of your choice, between 6-20 characters, including at least one number.

The monthly service fee for Bankline is based on the number of accounts you register: 1-5 accounts is £20 per month. 6-10 accounts is £80 per month. 11+ accounts is £160 per month.

The error message “Account Temporarily Unavailable” could mean there is a connection issue or the site has been taken down for maintenance. If you close the site and reopen it the message will usually go away, and you can continue with your transaction.

Less Flexibility With Transactions

Depositing a check is possible with a direct bank by using its banking app to capture both the front and back of the check. However, depositing cash is downright cumbersome at many online banks. So it's worth checking the bank's policy if this is something you plan to do frequently.

Bank accounts are typically frozen for suspected illegal activity, a creditor seeking payment, or by government request. A frozen account may also be a sign that you've been a victim of identity theft. Each situation requires specific actions to unfreeze the account.
