Two and a half years ago I received a job offer that would change my life- to work for GRAIL as an inside sales rep with the mission to support early cancer detection. I had very little experience and I knew it was my duty to prove that they made the right choice. I spent hours studying and perfecting my knowledge which led to me finding my rhythm and consistently hitting quota. In tandem, my mom was fighting her own battle with cancer. Seeing her strength and perseverance was a constant motivation for me. When she was on hospice, I was able to sit at her bedside for hours while I worked on my computer. This is something I will be forever grateful for. Around that same time I was given the incredible opportunity to become a peer to account directors who had extensive knowledge in sales and employee benefits. I gained a wealth of knowledge that I feel lucky to have. Today, my journey at GRAIL is coming to an unexpected close as I’ve been impacted by layoffs. Even with this tough news, I can’t help but be thankful for everything I’ve gained in these past 2.5 years. Sometimes business decisions are difficult, but I’ve been through enough in my life to know that this too shall pass. With that, I am looking for a new role, and appreciate you commenting, liking, and sharing to help with that. I have experience in enterprise sales in both account executive and business development roles, with specialities in next generation sequencing, genomics and oncology. I am a quick-learner and am open to new positions and industries. If you have worked with me before, it would mean the world if you endorsed me on my LinkedIn profile.Thank you all for your constant support, and I look forward to sharing what’s next in my journey! Emma

It's Glioblastoma Awareness Day. Before April 2021, I had no idea what glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) was. But quickly, it changed my family's life forever. GBM is one of the most complex, deadly, and treatment-resistant cancers. It doesn't just provide a devastating prognosis, it also clearly affects an individual's cognition, mood, behavior, and function of every organ. -NBTS https://lnkd.in/gJZEiYaGI feel hopeful that one day there will be early-detection tools and better treatment options for GBM, but until then, I will continue to spread awareness about this horrible disease, and encourage people to make the most of the time they do have in this life. (and I know I sound like a broken record here, but take advantage of the early detection screenings that already exist). This photo is from our family trip to Hawaii in early 2023. These people stopped my mom to ask about her optune device because they had a friend who was recently diagnosed with GBM. She graciously spent time explaining what the optune was, how it has helped her, and offering words of encouragement for their friend. 💗 #glioblastomaawarenessday #GBM #glioblastoma #NBTS #Novocure #cancersucks

"History is changing, and I was stunned to be a part of it." -Dr. Mackey referencing the Galleri Test.Cancer doesn't just start in late stages. It takes time to progress to that point, and oftentimes the progression of these stages goes unnoticed until symptoms are present. What we do before any symptoms appear is vital. That is why I urge you to seriously consider taking the Galleri test through your PCP, or asking your employer to sponsor the test as an employee benefit. Don't wait until you wish you did more. Be proactive. Ask questions. Advocate for yourself. No one is going to care more about your health than you. #cancerscreening #cancersucks #MultiCancerEarlyDetection GRAIL

Falling in love with Missouri one trip at a time… this time in KC! Thanks to everyone who welcomed Brad Cillian and I into their offices to learn about the Galleri Test and Employer Program. It’s truly an honor every single time. Up next, Osage Beach in August for the SHRM Conference! I really enjoyed attending the Cancer and Careers National Conference on Work & Cancer today. As someone who speaks almost exclusively to employers, it was very insightful to hear the employee/patient perspective on receiving a cancer diagnosis while being employed. Some key takeaways: -Continuing to work while battling a cancer diagnosis is important to many, as it creates a sense of normalcy and purpose. -Many employees are fearful of disclosing their cancer diagnosis to their employer out of fear of repercussions.-Employers can proactively show their support by providing cancer benefits such as multi-cancer early detection screening, post-positive support, caregiver support, etc. -Small actions can make a big impact (both positive and negative). Overall, I feel so lucky to get to speak with employers who are motivated to support their employees in the fight against cancer. #cancerandcareers #cancersupport #cancersucks
