1978 C10 (Custom Deluxe) BIG10

Hello there, today I am selling my running and driving 1978 C10 BIG10 Custom Deluxe with a clean title in my name. I purchased this truck back in March of this year with plans to restore it… but shortly after purchasing this truck I lost my shop space and was forced to work on the street. After a few months of fixing it up outside, my neighbors are starting to get unhappy... so the truck has to go :(

Here's a YouTube vid I made that gives all of the details about this truck:

The Good:
* Runs, Drives, and Stops
* Clean Title in my name
* Full tank of gas (just filled it up)
* The original dashboard and interior plastics are in really good shape (no cracks in dash)
* All original glass
* Installed New AC Delco Ignition Cylinder With Two New Keys
* Installed New Door Locks With Two New Keys
* Installed New Window Winder Handles
* Installed OEM 10" Rearview Mirror
* Installed New Locking Gas Cap
* Installed New Front Turn Signal Bulbs
* Installed New Sylvania Sealed Headlights (comes with a spare)
* Newer Battery
* Newer Plastic/Aluminum Radiator
* Newer Carburetor (Amazon Carb which was Vacuum GaugeGuage Tuned by last owner)
* Newer Distributor Cap
* Newer Spark Plugs
* Newer Airfilter
* Newer Head Gasket
* Newer Valvecover Gasket
* Newer Intake and Exhaust Manifold Gaskets
* Recent Engine Oil Change
* Recent Coolant Flush and Fill
* Newer Hood Braces (past taco’d hood)
* Newer seat cover, has some rips.
* Frame is clean (has only surface rust)
* Cab mounting points are clean and intact
* Bed mounting points are clean and intact
* Still has spare tire mount
* Electrical system is in great shape, everything works pretty well.
* Comes with assortment of new glass fuses
* Has a three pin trailer plug
* Ball hitch
* Blower Motor and heat works

The Bad:
* Lower body sheet metal has rust (Floorboards, Rocker Panels, Bottom of Doors, Battery Tray, and Bed Rust)
* OEM AM radio is not working
* Missing cigarette lighter
* Shifter bushings are warn and sloppy
* Exhaust leak where header connects to pipe (Needs new crush gasket and exhaust bolts are loose)
* Missing a Pre-Heater Hose
* Engine burns oil after getting to running temp (Needs new valve seals and/or piston rings)
* Temperature gauge does not work (I believe the sending units are bad or has a bad ground)
* Has one new tire but the other three are a bit older.
* Missing one chrome hub wheel ring
* Hi/Low headlight switch on floor does not switch
* Engine runs a little rough and will need some tuning love
* Front passenger guide light lens is broken (bulb does work)
* Rear driver side brake light lens is chipped
* Front driver side turn signal light lens is chipped.
* Exhaust pipe is little rusty
* Driver side door handle pad needs connected
* A small crack in the windshield
* A crack on the passenger side mirror glass

Final Notes:
* This truck was a yard-find from Kingston, Washington and has been registered in Washington its whole life.
* Since this truck was kept outside for a bit of time, it does have rust: The floorboard has holes (larger rust area on the driver side, much smaller rust area on the passenger side), inner/outer rocker panels are rusted through (both sides), door bottoms are rusty, battery tray has rusted, and the bed has a case of the Swiss cheese rust but still holds my body weight.
* The way this truck rusted seems not from road salt getting up under the truck but from stagnant rain water getting in from above.
* The frame is straight and solid with just surface rust.
* All of the mounting brackets are intact for the cab and bed.
* This truck runs and I drive it around twice a week to keep everything lubricated and the battery charged.
* My plan for this truck was to get it up to snuff mechanically, fix some of the rust, and run it as a ratty shop truck for my business... but plans change and will need to pass it on to the next person. This truck would make a great project and I hope to see it somewhere out in the future. Cheers!
